EMPOWERING A NEW GENERATION OF LEADERS
The Youth Peacemakers are a highly strategic vector of change on the ground. They are groups of young women and men that we establish in collaboration with local governmental and non-governmental organizations to ensure full recognition by the community. The selected youth undergo a one-year Training of Trainers program covering areas such as Conflict Resolution, ICT, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Trauma Awareness. Subsequently, we support them as they initiate initiatives in their home communities. Equipped with these skills, they become transformative insiders who spearhead projects to bring about long-term positive change on behalf of WPDI. These projects may include mediation processes, Conflict Resolution or Business and Entrepreneurship training, and the establishment of small businesses for themselves and others. Serving as representatives of WPDI on the ground, their actions enable WPDI to fulfill its mission in underprivileged and remote areas, leveraging a multiplier effect.
“I am very happy for this advocacy program during the holiday break because it urges us, the parents, to be vigilant for our children and support them to focus more on their future. Thank you WPDI for this wonderful opportunity.”
