A Series for International Women’s Month

March 18th, 2024 – During Women’s History Month, we will continue to celebrate and recognize the invaluable contributions of women in achieving local and global goals. We’ll be spotlighting the remarkable women who are integral to our mission and delving into our foundational pillars: Peacebuilding, Livelihood, Health & Wellbeing, and Sports.

During Women’s History Month, we are celebrating the indispensable contributions of women to our mission to foster peace around the world. Join our digital coffee chats to discover the pillars of our organization and hear from trailblazers driving positive change in their communities. This week, meet Cirenia Mateos, a successful trainee from our Business & Entrepreneurship programs in Tijuana, Mexico.

Creating Livelihoods is a central objective of our work at WPDI. Our aim is to develop economic resilience and autonomy by providing access to vocational training, to start-up seed grants, and to business incubation services. Through these efforts, we are not only empowering individuals like Cirenia to find jobs or start businesses, but also contributing to the prosperity and vibrancy of their communities.

Listen to Cirenia as she shares her journey and offers heartfelt advice for women worldwide aspiring to start their own businesses and achieve financial independence.
